Bicycle Casino Review
The "Bike" is one of the classic LA cardrooms. Although smaller than the Commerce, it still houses some 75-100 tables and offers a wide variety of Limit and NL Hold 'em, with some Omaha 8, Stud, and at the higher levels mixed games such as HORSE as well as local favorites like Mexican poker.
Games spread

Limit hold 'em:

    * $1/2
    * $2/4
    * $3/6
    * $4/8
    * $6/12
    * $8/16
    * $20/40
    * $30/60

And higher.

No-limit hold 'em:

    * $2-3 blinds ($100 min buy-in, $100 max)
    * $3-5 ($200 max)
    * $5-5 ($500 max)
    * $5-10 ($500 min, no max)
    * $10-20 ($1000 min, no max)

Omaha/8

    * $3/6 full kill
    * $6/12 full kill

7-stud

    * $1/2
    * $3/6

Pineapple

    * $3/6 Pineapple High-Low

Rake structure / time collection

    * 3-6 $4 rake, plus $1 jackpot
    * 4-8 $4 rake, plus $1 jackpot
    * 6-12 $5 rake, plus $1 jackpot
    * 8-16 $5 rake, plus $1 jackpot

No flop, no drop. However, $1 is taken from the small blind. Certain days offer double jackpot. 6-12 and 8-16 have a guaranteed $100,000 jackpot 7 days a week from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jackpot is Aces full of 10s beaten by four-of-a-kind or better, both holes must play.

Quality of opposition

Generally at the low limits it's pretty bad.

On the 6-12 and 8-16 the games can get pretty tight with 30 percent chop-chop (no flop).

Wait time
The room is large enough and the competition in LA is strong enough that it's not too bad. (I went there several times in a few days' stay in Fall 2004 and never waited more than 15-20 min. for games $3/6 and below.

Directions/accessibility
Right off the Long Beach Fwy, Florence Ave exit. The Bike is visible from the freeway and quite easy to find once you exit.
