These changes will be an investment not > just in the resort, but also in our region as a tourist destination. > > Since opening in 2004, Cache Creek has enjoyed strong customer > support. But, often a lack of rooms in our hotel and nearby has > required guests to drive home rather than stay. To answer this unmet > demand, as we previously announced, we will begin work to expand our > hotel later this year. > > We are continuing to refine plans and still have important > environmental studies to do. But, we have filed a supplemental Notice > of Preparation (NOP) with the State Clearinghouse and Yolo County. Our > supplemental NOP proposes adding up to 459 rooms, a pool, a > restaurant, additional meeting space and a multipurpose ballroom. No > additional gaming space is planned. > > The supplement is needed to fix an error in the plans for the ceiling > of the ballroom – its design was too low to allow installation of > needed equipment. We weighed many options and decided the most > practical was to add a few feet to fix the ballroom’s ceiling > height. This also allows us to add more rooms within the same building > footprint, instead of winding up with a lot of unusable empty space. > Overall, the change adds only ten feet to the building height. > > With this extra capacity, we will finally be able to welcome more > overnight guests, saving them trips on the road. And we look forward > to offering more rooms for other local visitors, including those > coming to our region as an agritourism destination. > > Together, we share the beautiful Capay Valley as our home, and our > Tribe is focused on protecting this land and open space.
