Man robbed outside Lake Elsinore Casino
LAKE ELSINORE ---- A man was robbed and knocked unconscious with a gun after he left the Lake Elsinore Casino on Monday, police said.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m., Lake Elsinore police received a call from an OnStar dispatcher saying one of their subscribers had just been robbed.
Officers found that the elderly victim had left the casino and gotten into his car when someone knocked at his driver's side window, police Sgt. Doug McGrew said.
The man said he rolled down his window and saw a woman wearing a baseball cap and brown jacket leaning toward him, McGrew said. The woman pointed a gun at the man and demanded his jewelry and money, police said.
The victim complied, but the woman then hit him behind the ear with the gun, McGrew said. There was possibly a second person with the woman, the victim told police.
After being hit, the man believes he lost consciousness. He was later taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment, McGrew said.
Police ask that anyone who may have any information about the crime or the robbers call the Lake Elsinore Police Station at (951) 245-3300.
