Renovations
Red Hawk Casino recently completed a renovation of its steak house and bar, the first of several changes planned for food services at the Placerville tribal gaming operation.

The renovations will create 20 to 30 new jobs at the casino, which with 1,250 employees is the second-largest private-sector employer in El Dorado County, after Blue Shield of California, and third-largest employer overall after Blue Shield and the county government.

The renovation of the Mahogany Bar at the highly-rated Henry’s Steakhouse will open the bar to the casino floor. Previously, the bar had been built to be open only with the restaurant, which only serves dinner. The renovation allows the bar to serve the gaming floor as well as the restaurant. A sliding wall will close off the restaurant space when it is not in use.

Next month, the casino’s Koto Grill, which serves Mexican food, will be replaced with Koto, a coffee shop. Also, the Two Rivers 24-hour cafeteria will be replaced with slot machines and a counter-service hamburger stand and espresso bar.

The renovations will create more jobs at the casino, with 20 to 30 people to be hired in the next few weeks, spokeswoman Emily Cady said.

“Red Hawk celebrated its seventh anniversary this year, and it was time to make improvements based on our guest’s feedback, which includes an updated look and feel of one our most popular dining venues,” general manager Bryan deLugo said in a news release.
