Building Stones
This boutique casino is a brand new, $7 million, 25,450 square foot prototypical dining and gaming destination located in Citrus Heights, California. The project redeveloped a vacant Salvation Army thrift store into a full-service restaurant, with two bars and two separately licensed, state-of-the-art, (15) table card rooms under one roof, and is the first project of this kind to combine and relocate two existing card room licenses into one location.

There are 3 distinct venues - the Poker Saloon, the Card Tavern and the Restaurant + Bar - in a relaxed, warm, modern-industrial space, creating a fresh and exciting local experience.

The main hall is inviting and light-filled, creating streams of colored light across the room through the glass facade. The signature multi-colored glass wall at both entrances replaces an outdated and inefficient glazing system. The main hall space is capped by existing sand blasted Doug Fir wood trusses spanning 40 ft. across a double-height center of the project. The Restaurant and Bar is the focal point at the back of the main hall, with seating for 150 and a large bar centered in the room. An open, live fire kitchen is central to the action of the restaurant, and lines the length of the east wall. The main bar has a zinc top and is clad with colorful metal tiles reclaimed from recycled shipping containers, custom designed community tables and host stand are sourced from scrap metal yards in Ohio.

Near the entrance, the  Card Tavern holds the blackjack and pai-gow poker tables, has bamboo wood ceilings, custom art pieces made of vintage poker chips from around the world, and a respectful gold Buddha altar for good luck. The Poker  Saloon is accessed through a sound proof, glass vestibule off the main space, and features 15 poker tables, and its own private bar.
