high stakes tournaments
Wynn launches some cool new high stakes poker tournaments. Until recently, if you wanted to play a poker tournament in Las Vegas with a buy-in around the $500 range and a healthy structure, there was really only one choice -- Bellagio. But, Wynn is turning up the heat with its own high stakes events.
Beginning this week, Wynn is spreading two $300+$30 No Limit tournaments (Tuesday and Thursday at 12 noon), as well as a $500 + $40 No Limit tournament every Friday at 3:00 p.m.
The $300 tourneys have a guaranteed $3,000 prize pool, and the $500 poker tournament has a guaranteed $5,000 prize pool. More importantly, these tournaments have really healthy structures. Players start with $3,000 in tournament chips, and blinds increase every 45 minutes.
These poker tournaments also return about 89% of the total buy-in to the prize pool, which is a respectable percentage for a live poker tournament in Vegas.
Also, Wynn is offering single table satellites into the main events. The satellites are held Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays beginning at 8:00 a.m., until tournament time. The top two players from each satellite win their entrance fees into the main event.
