Hollywood Poker Review

Our Hollywood Poker review is very similar to that of PokerRoom.com because both use software from PokerNetwork and share the same player base. The main differences are their promotions, special tournaments, and that Hollywood Poker is backed by actors James Woods and Vince Van Patten. Other celebrities do show up and play on their site - celebrity sightings include Merv Griffin, Scott Baio, Mimi Rogers, Jeff Fahey, French Stewart, Mena Suvari (wow), Willie Garson - but don't expect to play at a table with a celebrity every time you log on. Besides the opportunity to play with the stars, Hollywood Poker has one of the best poker room software, good tournament action, and excellent support.

HollywoodPoker Games and Table Stakes
HollywoodPoker has the following poker games: Texas Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha 8 or Better, Seven Card Stud, and Seven Card Stud 8 or Better. They have games with table stakes ranging from $0.10/$0.10 to $100/$200.

Hollywood Poker Tournaments
Hollywood Poker has solid tournament traffic. They have tournaments with a guaranteed prize pool of $50,000 every Saturday and $40,000 every Sunday, a Red Carpet Tournament for new players, the $10+1 Michael Woods Invitational every Thursday, Easy Money Tournaments, and quite a few others. They also have occasional $15,000 and $10,000 free roll tournaments which you can enter by using your Poker Points - see "Promotions" below.

Review of Poker Software & Statistics
Hollywood Poker uses one of the best software packages in the industry, by Poker Network. They have both a download version and no-download (Java) version. It is also one of the few sites that you can play on a Mac operating system. The software supports statistics for your poker hands and taking player notes.
