PokerWorld Fundraising

PokerWorld offers three distinct services to help your non-profit organization or sports team raise money. Check out the examples below to see how each can work for you.

PokerWorld Deposit Matching:

  1. PokerWorld is contacted by your organization.
  2. PokerWorld's Tournament Manager provides your organization with a coupon code enabling us to track your contributors when they signup on our site, as well as a secure login so you can access an online report detailing each signup and PokerWorld's matching contribution.
  3. Once this code is shared amongst your membership, they can provide it to potential contributors offering them the following: Open a real-money account on PokerWorld.com (minimum of $25) and PokerWorld will match each deposit (up to $50) with an equal contribution to the participating charity.
  4. When the people contacted by your organization decide to go forward, they simply open a PokerWorld account entering the coupon code and this information is immediately captured by our reporting mechanism.
    Note:
To ensure that deposits are not being made and immediately withdrawn to garner the matching contribution from PokerWorld, each player will be required to play 100 raked hands (about one hour's play) on the PokerWorld site before the matching contribution is confirmed.
  5. Once a month, PokerWorld will deposit the total contributions into your organization's Neteller account enabling you to transfer the contributions directly into your organization's financial account with no transaction fees.

PokerWorld Tournament Fundraisers:

  1. PokerWorld is contacted by your organization.
  2. PokerWorld's Tournament Manager consults with your organization to determine the particulars of your online tournament (i.e. date, game, limit, buy-in, etc.) hosted in the PokerWorld.com cardroom.
  3. PokerWorld will work with your organization to define a tournament/prize structure that best meets your organization's needs (see example below).
  4. Once the tournament structure is defined, PokerWorld will provide your organization with a secure password enabling each player's entry into the tournament of their choice depending upon the buy-in amount they've committed to your organization.
  5. To enter the tournament, each player downloads the PokerWorld software and opens a PokerWorld account depositing an amount sufficient to fund their tournament buy-in. From there, the player registers in the Tournament Lobby providing the necessary password to enable their participation in this exclusive tournament.
  6. Once the tournament has concluded, prizes are paid out directly into each player's account. PokerWorld will pay the total donations directly into your organization's Neteller account enabling you to transfer the contributions directly into your organization's financial account with no transaction fees.

Eg.

Let's say your organization can attract 100 people interested in helping a worthwhile cause while playing a fun game of poker. Let's also say, for the purposes of this example, that these people wanted to spend no more than $10 each. That being the case, the tournament could be organized as a $750 Guaranteed $10 + $1 Tournament as follows:

$750 indicates the total prize pool to be split amongst the players. 100 players each contributing a $10 buy-in would typically yield a $1,000 prize pool. In this example, 25% ($250) is allocated to your organization with the players receiving the remaining 75% ($750). Your organization can set this percentage however you like! If the participants are very committed to your charity and poker dabblers at best, we can set up the tournament so you're receiving 80% of the buy-ins or more. If they're primarily interested in a high-stakes poker match and helping the charity is just an added incentive, the percentage would skew in favor of a larger jackpot for the players.

$10 indicates the individual buy-in amount paid by each player. The higher this figure, the more monies available for your organization and the prize payout. For best results, PokerWorld can arrange multiple tournaments at various buy-in levels (e.g. a choice of a $20, $50 or $100 buy-in tournament) enabling your organization to offer a broad range of choices to potential contributors.

$1 indicates the standard 10% tournament fee paid to the host by the individual players. PokerWorld receives this fee as compensation for organizing and hosting the tournament and processing the payouts. Upon your request, PokerWorld will also invite our regular clientele to participate in your tournament raising the total charitable contribution/prize payout accordingly.
