Hotel Expansion
I am writing to update you on the exciting changes we are planning for our Cache Creek Casino Resort. These changes will be an investment not just in the resort, but also in our region as a tourist destination.

Since opening in 2004, Cache Creek has enjoyed strong customer support. But, often a lack of rooms in our hotel and nearby has required guests to drive home rather than stay. To answer this unmet demand, as we previously announced, we will begin work to expand our hotel later this year.

We are continuing to refine plans and still have important environmental studies to do. But, we have filed a supplemental Notice of Preparation (NOP) with the State Clearinghouse and Yolo County. Our supplemental NOP proposes adding up to 459 rooms, a pool, a restaurant, additional meeting space and a multipurpose ballroom. No additional gaming space is planned.

The supplement is needed to fix an error in the plans for the ceiling of the ballroom – its design was too low to allow installation of needed equipment. We weighed many options and decided the most practical was to add a few feet to fix the ballroom’s ceiling height. This also allows us to add more rooms within the same building footprint, instead of winding up with a lot of unusable empty space. Overall, the change adds only ten feet to the building height.

With this extra capacity, we will finally be able to welcome more overnight guests, saving them trips on the road. And we look forward to offering more rooms for other local visitors, including those coming to our region as an agritourism destination.

Together, we share the beautiful Capay Valley as our home, and our Tribe is focused on protecting this land and open space. This project will not take up any new open land. The updated hotel will fit within the footprint of already developed land, using part of our south parking lot. The architecture will fit the natural backdrop of the Capay Valley, match the aesthetics of the existing hotel, and incorporate the high quality finish standards employed in our Yocha Dehe Golf Club and Séka Hills Olive Mill and Tasting Room.

We still have a long way to go. As your community partner and neighbor, we will continue to share updates on the project and its impacts. To learn more, we urge you to visit www.yochadehe.org and www.cachecreek.com.

Thank you very much for your time.
